Bear lights out cost12/27/2023 ![]() My personal limit for brace height is not less than 7" for hunting. You'll see what I mean when you really get into archery and start paper tuning in the quest for perfect arrow flight.Ī very forgiving brace height at 7.875", yet more than enough speed. The top idler wheel will torque to the right at full draw, kicking the arrow left as it goes throught the power stroke. The micro bows are very hard to tune for people with longer draw lengths, like me with 30". My personal limit is no bow less than 33" ATA. That is only my humble opinion, and this is why. Have shot most models, old, new and traditional. I live very close to the Bear Factory in Gainesville, Florida, and frequent the pro shop often. there is a lot more to archery than putting a arrow on a string. a lot of really good used bows can be bought on here or on E BAY as long as you know what your looking for.before you waste a lot of money and arent happy with what you have bought find a couple bow hunters in your area and have them help you. even martin bows are good quality and for the price are a good value. if your going to spend the money and are going to keep it for a whlie dont skimp on quality.mathews or bow tech bows may cost a little more but the resale value is a lot better. a brace height of 6 1/2 to 7 " will have better performance or as you say they will be more bow.you want all the performance you can get because that equalls power and thats what drives your arrow thru a deer or what is known as kentic energey.a bow with a axle to axle of 34 to 36 " will handle well in a tree stand.go on line and get as many catolags as you can and compare spec's. dont buy a bow with a IBO rateing of less than 310 fps, actually 320fps would even be better.dont beleive all the hype about forgiveing bows. make darn sure the draw length is right before you buy anything or can be adjusted with a module.I am your size so ya you should need a 30" draw length.so here is what i would recommend. i assume your looking at bear bows thru a pro shop but for the money there are a lot better bows out there. ![]() Welcome to the world of bow hunting.before you spend a dime on anything do a lot of looking and checking.
